2020 Summer Interns would attend virtual session via zoom every Monday and Friday. Interns were taught about professionalism, college prep and courses, financing, credits, and other important topic one needs to know to make good decisions in the future. Interns would work together on group projects as well as do weekly assigned tasks related on the topic that had been covered in the previous lesson. Due to COVID-19, not everyone was assigned at worksite, however for those who did: they worked aside many others.
Lisa met a lot of new people in this program. She learned a lot of new things that will help her prepare for the future when she heads off for college and will be on her own. MYEEP has taught her a lot about professionalism. She plans on applying again during the school year and summer as another intern or CIT.
Plan Your City (PYC) Project:
Summer MYEEP participants were assigned a final project. They were given the budget for San Francisco and had the freedom to change it. After, they had to create 2 proposals for the city, a slide presentation, and a description on the proposals they came up with.
Over 20 participants were chosen to join MYEEP for the school year for 2020 - 2021. The participants, yet again had another "Plan Your City Project". This time however, the participants worked with a partner to propose ideas on how we can make our community here in San Francisco a better place.
Each group was told to make slides and type out their proposals on a google document.
